San Francisco Bay Area based Guesthouse Music is one of the top labels in the burgeoning new school of underground – part of the forward-thinking house music movement in the United States. Started by SF mainstay Jason Sutton (aka DJ Mes) in early 2005, the label already has five releases under its six-month old belt, and is showing no signs of losing momentum. Inspired by the close-knit vibe of the underground house community in the US and beyond, (and from plenty of couch-surfing and sleeping at friends' places while DJing away from home) the name Guesthouse was born; and so was the home of what Sutton hopes will be the future classics of house music. GHM is off to a pretty good start. With Cozy Creatures' ''Show U The Way'' and Francis Jilla and Johnny Drama's ''Just a Little Oven' (on sister label Guess Who?) banging out of nearly every sound system at WMC 05` in Miami; and top notch releases from Demarkus Lewis, The Sound Republic, High Caliber, DJ Freestyle/Joe Silva, Soulpatch/JustJason, and a whole slew of top notch talent waiting in the wings.
