I went to a tribute for him by The Robert Glasper Trio and Pete Rock last weekend in Harlem, and at 69 he blew every youngin’ on the stage out of the water… So, I thought I’d do my own tribute to the man, myth, and one of the most sampled musicians ever.

In celebration of their brand new album, Now & Forever, this week's show will feature the musical output and contributions of the members of the Escovedo family: Sheila E., Pete Escovedo, Coke Escovedo, Peter Michael Escovedo, and Juan Escovedo.

All Prince fans are salivating right about now. There have been several, landmark Prince associates' releases all released within weeks of each other. So, I've decided to hijack my No Turn Unstoned radio show and do a trilogy of shows for Prince's associates' new releases.

This is the final show in the trilogy. Last Week's show was in celebration of the Original 7ven's (AKA The Time) new album, Condensate. The previous week was in celebration fDELUXE's (AKA The Family) new album, Gaslight.

Next Sunday, No Turn Unstoned is taking a hiatus for the holiday season! We'll be back the week of Dec. 4th.

In putting together the mix, I channeled the sorely missed Renegade Medicine Show (http://www.renegademedicineshow.com/category/podcast/) for the 1st hour (Bring RMS back, John Patrick Waller & Josh Hey!)... A lot more dubstep / dub than usual, but it's still a pretty ecletic mix. An atmospheric set for a grey day in Philly;)

After my 3 week summer hiatus, I'm back with a mix in honor of James Blake's CMYK. Last week, I went to go see him perform for a second time this year in NYC. When he performed CMYK live, I was blown away. It was never my favorite song on the EP. My favorite track on the EP was and still is, Postpone, but now I get why so many folks liked that song in particular. I've come to the conclusion that ALL of James Blake's songs just sound EXTRA-extraordinary performed live.

Since Damn is used a lot in CMYK and a personal incident had me swearing in my head this week, I thought I create a mix around the word.
