ND Baumecker with his "Prescription Every Night" mix from 1997, when Radio X in Frankfurt started and i hosted the DJ nights alongside the INFRACom! crew.
This mix is not only a 1st class testimony how deep house should be done with two turntables but has been high influential on my view at housemusic. Back in the Wild Pitch Club Frankfurt days ND was my favourite DJ on thursday night in a basement. The whole history of Playhouse & Co. started right there . . . House is a feeling.
ND is living in Berlin now and does some great new stuff on Ostgut Ton plus takes care of bookings at the Panorama Bar. Danke, Andreas! I don't want to sound too oldschool but there are many DJs today who think they play deephouse but should have a listen here. And then think again.
On another note i had such a great time the last two weeks, which started with the soulsearching summer session 2010 on the last hot summerday & night this year, then off to see and meet Fat Freddys Drop twice, Cologne Live Music Hall indoor and Chiemsee Reggae Festival outdoor, both unforgettable performances, the NZ guys are getting better and better! Last Tuesday back in Frankfurt its been the first installment of the Verve Club with the mindblowing live sets by the Kelvin Sholar Trio, from Stravinsky, Miles Davis and Carl Craig compositions to their Sholars own material - from Jazz to Techno. Live !
Big thanks to Stephan Steigleder makin this happen. ...hold tight for more Verve Club action in Frankfurt and Berlin.
