This week’s podcast comes from Berlin’s Marco Resmann. Most of us know him through his Watergate residency which started in 2006. In fact, it’s worth mentioning that in his Watergate 10 mix CD released earlier this year, he’s included one of the bangers in our back catalogue, Roman Flügel’s remix of Darabi.
Marco’s solo productions are few under this moniker or that of Phage, but a glance at his bio reveals he’s been involved with some of the most interesting german projects in recent years: first off, he’s part of the awesome duo Luna City Express, purveyors of highest grade house through quality label Upon You. Also, Phage & Dreier releases should not be missed. But did you know he used to be part of Pan:Pot back in the day where they were Mobilee’s top act? These days, Marco has put aside all collaborations safe for Luna City Express, and focuses on releases and performance under his birth name.
I was a bit worried this podcast would be overshadowed by Marco’s mix CD, but it’s far from being the case. Here’s a supremely elegant podcast filled with unconventional grooves, from lazy house, to hybrid bass, deep techno, NY disco and more. Mixed with plenty of grace, it’s the perfect soundtrack for one of those spring days where sunlight and showers alternate at a rhythm not unlike the pace of this set.
