The Berlin Mitte Institut für Bessere Elektronische Musik is a fusion of some music enthusiasts, who are trying to establish a platform for the experimentation of concepts related to the electronic music culture.

Every second Monday from 7 pm CET the BMI presents local, national and international DJ in-crowd and acts on the electronic music scene. We focus on showing unique concepts and presenting the the most appealing from all genres of electronic music plus selecting the essence of monthly releases for the interested listener.

The BMI broadcasts bi-weekly (from its inception in October 2006) each and every second Monday from 7 pm CET till midnight on Shouted.FM in LIVE video and audio streaming. During our shows we put much effort in not just playing great music, but also showing live and uncut deeper backgrounds of our guests in interviews.

Our playlist includes national and international electronic front-line combatants who will showcase their definition of “better electronic music”. We have already presented various labels, clubs, event promoters and others concepts like Minus, Mobilee, Berghain / Panorama Bar, Kassette, Delikat and many more.

Once a month we air the “New Releases Show” feature to showcase the latest releases of labels and unsigned artists, big and small, and give our considered comments and feedback.

The show is produced by Jan Kühn aka Fresh Meat with friends, a bunch of urban slackers with roots in the Berlin Drum & Bass scene, who have explored and fallen in love with the breadth of the electronic universe beyond planet Drum & Bass.
