The Frankfurt based label Klang Elektronik was founded in 1993 as a sister label of Playhouse and sublabel of Ongaku Musik by the DJs ATA and Heiko MSO.
Originally thought to be the own release platform for the new friends and producers Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke (aka Acid Jeses, Alter Ego, Sensorama), the label soon advanced (after the first four Acid Jesus releases and the following album) to an eclectic and experimentally determined matrix for many diverse national and international artists (e.g. Sideral from Spain, Flux from Belgium, Daniel Bell from Detroit, USA, Il.Ek.Tro from Leeds UK or the partycrashers/sapiano and the partycrashers from London).
They enrich the musical array of the local comrade-in-arms of Klang Elektronik (e.g. Eight Miles High, Sikora, Maus & Stolle, Ex.Or.Zis.Mus or Siro), who are friends or people from the close environment of the two carriers.
Contacts from abroad were developed through the occupation of Ata and Heiko in the legendary Delirium Record Store in Frankfurt (which they co-founded) and through being Resident DJs in the (1993 self-founded) Wild Pitch Club and of course because of the famous international gigs of Flügel/Wuttke as Acid Jesus and Alter Ego, mainly in England.
In 1997 the album Freestyle Candie by Flügel/Wittke,which contains the best Remixes, they did or have been done for them, is released in an elaborated Floppy Disk packaging. It presents artists like Black Dog, Global Communication, Sven Väth, Philipp BOa and David Holmes on one CD.
The slogan Music Is Language is formed to be the principle of the label and is taken as receipt for international cooperation without musical or stylistic borders.
The release policy, which is formed since 1993 just by the collective (Ata, Heiko, Jörn and Roman together), and for which just the quality of the music is crucial, becomes even more interesting by the fact that all four have different musical backgrounds.
Klang Elektronik doesn't aim sepcifically to a club or a home-listening-audience, but does never exceed Club-Techno (like Sapiano and the partycrashers) or pure listening-music (like Farben). A combination of both elements is preferred, like Eight Miles High, Maus & Stolle or List. Also emphasized are high quality packaging and cover, because the product should talk for itself and should be enjoyable as whole contentually and aesthetically. Show less
