Epic was founded in 1953 by CBS. After becoming a familiar name for jazz and classical music it soon focussed more on Rock, R&B and Popmusic. In the 70s it released some of the most important disco acts like ABBA and Sly & The Family Stone, through the 80ies big names like George Michael, Cyndi Lauper and Michael Jackson were added.
Today Epic is more into rock & pop music > its most famous acts are e.g. Rage Against The Machine, Anastacia Good Charlotte a.m.m.
