Backend Developer

Your role:
  • Develop the backend parts of the new Play.fm, based on PHP5/SQL
  • Work closely with developers and sysops on performance, stability and scalability
Bonus:
  • knowledge of queue based architectures
  • some knowledge about the Facebook API
  • experience with datamining and analysis of large datasets
Requirements:
  • professional experience with PHP5
  • experience with high traffic websites
  • great SQL skills, including optimization of complex queries
  • experience with MVC frameworks, eg Symfony 2

Web Developer

Your role:
  • Build the new frontend for Play.fm with modern technologies like CSS3, HTML5, Backbone.js
  • Respond to user feedback and improve Play.fm in quick iterations
  • Work closely with the interface designer to develop the best user experience
Requirements:
  • significant experience in web frontend development (HTML, CSS3, Javascript)
  • experience with Adobe Photoshop (editing of designs to create markups)
  • profound knowledge of W3C- and cross-browser compatible markup
  • experience with JS frameworks and HTML5 is a plus

Internships

We are hiring interns that want to work with us for a certain period of time in our Viennese headquarters. If you like working in a small team and you love pushing things forward then join us and make the world a better music place with Play.fm.

Backend or Web Developer

Here is what we want you to do:
  • support the development team in building the new backend and/or frontend, fixing bugs and helping with new features for at least 3 months
Bonus:
  • experience with MVC frameworks, eg Symfony 2
  • experience with JS frameworks and HTML5
  • some knowledge of queue based architectures
  • some knowledge about the Facebook AP
Requirements:

Here is what we want you to do:
  • Editorial website management
  • Content partner liaison (artists, labels, clubs, festivals)
  • Visit events and festivals
  • Plan our radio show schedule
  • Handle community support requests
  • Coordination of social media activities
