“There’s nothing I can say that will help explain my uncontrollable urge to create music.
I’ve been producing since my mid teens, in various styles, genres and environments.
At the moment I find myself making music aimed at the club dance floor, taking inspiration from funk, jazz, rock, techno and house, and just trying to make something entertaining for people to dance to.
I studied sound engineering for a while in Cardiff which fuelled my fascination with the technology used to create music, and inspired me to explore the world of synthesis and sampling even more.
This inevitably led me to creating music that fits into the house/techno genres, but I like to think I keep elements of my funk/rock/metal/jazz roots in my production.”
Introduced to the scene in 2003, with releases on Mindtours and Morris/Audio citysport, he enveloped himself in the world of electronic music and setup Trimsound, the record label he runs with Leif and his brother Joe.
After a couple of vinyl releases, Trimsound evolved to offer a free netlabel and a sub-netlabel, Minordust, where you can find a more diverse catalogue of music available for free download.
Tom’s uncontrollable urge to create music has led him to release on over 20 different labels to date, and build up a huge collection of work that can usually only be heard when he performs.
As well as offering live and DJ sets of his own material, Tom also performs with Leif as Trimsound live, where you get to hear Tom playing live bass guitar, along side live back-to-back Reason and Ableton. Show less
