The restless Superpitcher:
As Aksel Schaufler started collecting music in the early age of 16, when he was living in a small village in Baden-Wuerttemberg, he grew up with an instinct for music. The Prefab Sprout, Scritti Politti and of course beloved Roxy Music built his creative socialization > no wonder Aksel's, in this time known as Sir Positive, first release came up on a sublabel of WordSound in 1998. Seems the Americans know what to take from the old world, even more interesting is the unverified rumour, that his 7" was the first release of an european artist ever on WordSound.
Some time later, it must have been around 2001, Aksel met his new heroes: Wolfgang Voigt, Chain Reaction, Joerg Burger and Air Liquide: the Kompakt Clique. First working in the destribution department, then developing his production skills, then setting up Kompakt's "Total Confusion" party series together with Tobias Thomas and Michael Mayer, Aksel turned into Superpitcher. Since then he seems to stand still for one breath: alone as Superpitcher with "Here Comes Love", the unforgettable version of Brian Eno's "Baby's On Fire" or together with Michael Mayer as Supermayer: he is always on the run to save the floors with most beautiful and poetic dance music. Peculiar to Superpitcher: it's not enough, that he toured whole summer 09 on festivals around the world, but also finished his 2nd album release in the Supermayer collaboration, which shall be released in fall 2009. We can't wait! Show less
