Harald Pozar started to collect music as a teen, recording it onto MC's and giving those away to friends. He also enjoyed playing the music he liked, like 'QUEEN' and 'PINK FLOYD' to his neighborhood - but only when his parents were out.
At the beginning of the 90ies a friend from london told him to visit the 'SPACE JUNGLE', a classical techno-party on wednesdays at the U4 in vienna. He did as he was told and that's it been ... The fever of electronic dance music took grip of him and he started to buy vinyls. Those were recorded onto mc's and given away to friends (sounds familiar, does it). First half-public appearances at the 'RAG' - a clothes shop which provided the equipment for to-be DJ's - followed soon after.
First club-appearances, 1993 at the 'LAUDON's' legendary after-after hour as 'DJ HEROLD' and steady commitments at the 'TIME OUT' 1994 at the 'EXZESS' were the logical result. He was also present at the 'FEVER PARTIES' held by 'BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE-production' 1995.
Private reasons forced him to take a break from the party-scene and DJ-ing. He limited his appearances to parties from his friends where he met josef gaffl (DJ ROLLERCOASTER). It was this man, who also acts as an organizer for cultural events, who convinced him to continue with performing for public audiences. so his first acts as 'DJ SPOOK' together with rollercoaster at the 'CLUB-U' in vienna and at the 'CAFE STROM' in linz followed. This way he evoked the interest of some members of the upper austrian BACKLAB-collective. He was booked for the 'TEMP-FESTIVAL 2003' in greifenstein and joined backlab as a guest for an appearance at the 'CLUB ACADEMIA' in beograd and also for the 'ZWISCHENSTROMBALL' in Upper Austrias Muehlviertel.
A holiday journey to the ukraine brought as a result his acquaintance with Anton T., a promoter from belarus (by). A productive exchange of DJ's from Belarus and DJ's and VJ's from Austria took place.
Appearances at the club 'MATRIX' in brest, at the 'BRONX' in minsk and the 'FLEX' in Vienna (2004) were the result of that.
In the small but fine cocktailbar 'HALBESTADT' at the Viennese Guertel, DJ Spook has regularly appearances during which he takes his audience on up to 5-hour long musically journeys around the globe.
2005 he was, together with some friends from belarus, again invited to the 'Russian Party' at the 'FLEX', also the 'PIRANHAS & REVOLVERS' in Polatsk (by) and again the 'BRONX' in Minsk. An additional appearance brought him to an open-air held on a military flight base in Minsk together with DJ's from Russia, Poland and the Ukraine.
DJ Spook really likes the 'coming together of nations' through electronic dance music and will continue to invite artists to Austria and to organize international appearances together with DJ's and VJ's from Austria. Show less
