Shik Stylko are Sebastian Krieg and Roman Freihoff. They work as a team of DJ's and musicians for more than 14 years, now.
They established their excellent reputation being resident DJ's in M1 Club in Stuttgart, Germany, from 1995 to 2002. Shik Stylko's characteristic style of house - tribal and electro sound with funky and soulful roots turned M1 Club into one of the most respected house clubs in Germany. Shik Stylko's sense for mass moving sound substantiated the universal recognition of the top house DJ's and lead to joint club sessions with Masters at Work, DJ Pierre, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri from Pais, Eric Morillo, Ian Pooley and Erik Rug.
The two musicians are well known and respected DJ's travelling around the world for gigs in most respected locations like In Space/Privilege/Amnesia, Ibiza, 8Seasons/P1/Prinzip, Munich, Kaufleuten, Zurich, Jet Set, Moscow, The Applefunk Session, Alicante, Stalker/Zebra, Amsterdam, Blue, Miami, Tiefenrausch, Munich and many more.
In January 2002, Sebastian and Roman realised their plan to further combine passion and profession. They founded the label Realbasic Recordings located in Munich, Germany. By providing an independent platform for house music projects they enabled themselves to offer their sense for music and their knowledge of professional studio productions to other musicians and labels. And as a matter of course the studio provides the base to work independently on their well respected Shik Stylko sound.
Already Realbasic Recording's first record was a success. Featuring the house legend Tyree Cooper Shik Stylko released Groove you out tonight, in 2002. The track reached a top number 8 position in the Mixmag-Hype Charts in England. Remixed by Grant Nelson & Brian Tappert it was again well received in the record stores. Groove you out tonight became a real underground club anthem played by the Top DJ's around the world. This track marked the starting point for many hot Shik Stylko releases on labels like Refunkt, Progcity, Peppermint Jam, 99 Carat and of course Realbasic Recordings and Realbasic Tracks.
Many other labels and producers came along to get Shik Stylko remixes for their releases like Mateo & Matos, Hardsoul, Soul Avengerz, Deep Josh, 7th District, Bobbie D´Ambrosio (Soulfuric). Famous compilations from labels like Ministry of Sound, Defected, Azuli, Mn2s, Om, Bargrooves or Penthouse became licensees of Shik Stylko tracks. With the regular appearance in the play list of respected house DJs like DJ Chus, Stonebridge, Ben Watt, Matt Caseli, Brian Tappert, Grant Nelson, or Hardsoul shows that Shik Stylko has supporters throughout the house community and is a consistently hot property around the globe!
