In the middle of the 90ties DJ Plamaka was caught by the fascination of hiphop. In 1999, inspired by the techniques of DJ Premier, Tony Touch and DJ Zuzee he decided to prove himself on the Fader.
After countless days and even more nights behind the 1210 Playmaka gave himself up to the HipHop-scene in the Viennese Subzero in 2002 to show his newly gained manual skills. All nervousness made itself paid through a well filled sweating club. Many further successful evenings should follow the great premiere, nowadays Playmaka is a popular guest on the turntables of the most banging locations in the city, whether Flex, Café Leopold, Roxy, B72, Ramien, Wuk or All-in.
Long Playmaka does not only dedicate himself to the HipHop-Genre, his repertoire expanded in the course of the years on funk, soul and breakbeats. DJ Playmaka succeeded in combining these different styles of music at his gigs and in his tapes again and again and for this reason he provides a great party feeling. That’s why he is also known as “The Party Groove DJ”.
Playmaka also appears as the DJ of the hiphop-newcomer Band MA 21 and as a member of the established Viennese breaker-crew B-Boy Soul Tribe. In summer 2005 DJ Playmaka and DJ Komet Rockski founded together the formation VIENNA DISCO KINGZ. Playmaka called the attention to himself by scratchfeatures for various rappers on records.
In the middle of 2005 Playmaka published his first track “No Competition”.
In the end of 2004 he released his first official mixtape, named "Party-Groove”, which was the beginning of a regular mixtape-series. Vol. 2 followed in the middle of 2005, which includes 20 usefully selected tracks with 70 minutes of breakbeat, funk and hiphop. The Intro is spoken by Crazy Legs of the legendary Rock Steady Crew and in the Outro you can hear the Austrian B-boy Komet Rock.
Starting 2007 you can download monthly an exclusive-mix with features, the newest releases, and all-time classics from playmaka’s homepage.
