Parker has been sat on some dope beats for a little while now, although he's never been one to blow his own trumpet. But after he played breaks supremo Cut la Roc a snippet of one of his trademark up-tempo neo-soul workouts (after the pair shared a bill at a club night), its thunderous drums and fishhook-like breakdowns grabbed him by the scruff of the neck so roughly that he offered him an album deal right then and there on his Rocstar record label. Needless to say, the contract has been signed and the much-anticipated album is in the pipeline.
His sound? Well, it can deviate in mood, but it never strays far from the winning combination of soaring melodies, neck snap drum sequencing and heart felt drive. You can call it 'future soul,' or 'northern breaks'...we`d prefer `dance floor dynamite.`
The crowd of party people peeping Parker is increasing, thanks to national radio support from Steve Lamacq (Radio 1), Bethan & Huw (Radio1) and Nick Luscombe (Xfm). And because of his flawless DJ sets, which take in all influences from hip-hop, drum and bass, funk, soul and beats. His `Vulture Magnetic` mixtape, which was engineered alongside DJ Moneyshot has racked up a fan base that includes the likes of DJ Yoda, DJ Food, Andy Smith and XFM`s Eddie Temple Morris, a DJ/presenter who is championing the `Vulture ` mix hard and inviting the boys to present an exclusive version on a forthcoming episode of his Remix radio show.
Behind the decks he has won over the hearts, minds and dancing feet of crowds from Glastonbury to Bratislava, and through Parker`s productions he hopes to reach an even wider audience.
Keep your eye on this young upstart; big things are going to happen. Not that Parker would blow his own trumpet...well, he doesn't need to - his music speaks for itself.
