Born in Taiwan R.O.C. to rocket scientist father and kindergarten teacher mother, David Wang (a.k.a. Mochipet) did not get his start in music until the age of 15, when the urge of metal guitar overtook him in Livermore California. David has also held residencies at [Eraser] Club (Los Angeles) and Trouble Club (San Francisco) along side fellow musicians: 8fm/[a]pendics shuffle, John Tejada, Pieter K, Edit, Kid606, Josh Kit Clayton, Sue Constabile, Sindri, Uprock, Matt Laszuk, Philip Sherburne, and Sutekh. He currently helps host an experimental music night called DimSum in the Greater Bay Area.
Mochipet's music has been featured and reviewed in publications such as: Village Voice, San Francisco Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, URB, and XLR8R Magazine. As well as charted and highlighted on major radio stations such as: KXLU, WFMU, KUCI, WNRN, WXYC, XFM, KDVS, KCRW, and John Peel's BBC Radio.
David's music has also caught the ears of the Sports and Skateboarding world. You may have heard his songs being featured on Fuel TV and Directv Payperview with skate legends such as: Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Christian Hasoi, Ray Barbee, Laban Pheidias, Jason “Weeman” Acuna, Rob Dyrdek, and Anthony Van Engelen.
