from the age of seventeen, hubert mauracher had made the necessary steps to achieve success as a drummer. with the essential experience of many live-gigs over a period of years, mauracher decided to follow a new path that had intrigued him for a long time. the field of exploration he had decided to venture into was that of electronic music, more specifically the use of sequencer programs and electronic sounds.
instead of taking over his parentÎs tyrolean hotel, mauracher packed his suitcase and moved to vienna enabling him to dedicate himself solely to making the kind of music we hear on fabrique records. forming himself a musical identity was helped by sharing a flat with top-class jazz musicians, a personal journey into superb and driving tunes with electronic-jazz grooves. a style that has already earned him much respect. hubert mauracher´s first breakthrough as a solo-artist was achieved on fabrique records with the track "meilenstein" on the superfabrique compilation (2002), where dreamlike melodies meet uptempo-jazz-grooves.
september 2003: the debutalbum "29 degrees" droped in september 2003, a fresh collection of timeless tunes and full of surprises. from electronic future jazz to funky flute brazil bongo grooves.
november 2003: coming on the back of his debut album mauracher returned with "zombielove" an action backed 12” - package that features the undisputed vocal talents of aminata. based on the contents of a film script by franz berner "zombielove" came in 3 different versions: mauracher`s uplifting party tune, multi-instrumentalist bonobo (ninja tune) delivered a sure fire dance floor filler rework, while fabriques kava dished out a funky and punchy broken beat roller.
october 2004: following the global critical success of his last musical efforts, music wizard mauracher returns with a brand new funky single "waiting" (together with vocalist ellen muhr from "the bunny situation") feat. remixes by dr. rubberunk and parov stelar.
watch out for the 2nd mauracher album "kissing my grandma", coming up in autumn 2005...
