Markus Schulz was born 1977-09-28 in Neunkirchen/Saar germany. In his early years he played drums and keyboard and create together with his best friend his own band. In this time period he only likes black music. A few years later the friendship broke up and Markus was playing music on his own.

In 1999 he was to be faced with the electronic sound and so he bought his first two record players. By going the electronic way of art he was inspired by the album of Pascal Feos named "The essence of minimalistic sound". The dominant force of minimalism is subtlety of feelings Markus said.
