Marcus Neve started dj-ing in 1991 in the now long closed Wayos Bar in the 7th district in Vienna.Back in the days he played in front of a mixed black and white crowd (which was and actually still is quite unusual in Vienna) spinning Ska and Roots Reggae and the new “in-sound” Acid Jazz. In 1994, after the closure of Wayos, he started looking for new musical inspirations and added drum´n´bass to his eclectic style. Inspired by local dj-heroes Gümix and Szivago he was able to get a Dj - slot at “Donau”, which was his homebase for the next 5 years. Teaming up with Patrick Kong in 1998 to form the “ Tanaka Twins” they played in several locations mixing minimal funky Techno with live percussion - mayhem. Gigs in England, Germany and Austria followed. Since 2002 Marcus hosts a club night called “Slave to the Rhythm” (alongside fellow Dj collegue SimonleBon). The clubnight is known to represent Dance music in all its variety; brought to the listeners and dancers in a very eclectic way. A series of good, bad and ugly partys followed; playing alongside friends and local Dj colleagues such as: Slack Hippy, Karalius and Lauris Lee (Ryralio rec. Lithuania), Rawbird, Mr.Rob, TJ Hicks, Dunja, Rosenauer, Fraeulein g, Vania, Dj Select, Patrick Kong, Mike Polarny (pompon/ PL) and live acts like Electron and Breakin` Stevens. In 2004 Marcus Neve teamed up with ProjectEast! to play at a few of the finest partys in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Austria. Talk acid wobbles, minimal clicks, funky electro snares, beats and breaks, percussions and chants or simply soul; Marcus Neve´s eclectic sets know no boundaries. In the future Marcus Neve will concentrate on drawing his cartoons, his kindergarten teaching and on producing fresh and soulful music with people of similar understanding, of the universal power, of the “vibe”. “ Qui me cherche, me trouve!” Show less
