In the 80`s Makossa used to be resident dj in the legendary Viennese Club "U4" (together with Peter Rauhofer) as well as in the club "Camera".
Due to his job at the Viennese label "Dum Dum Records" an own scene developed at the end of the 80`s around his person, animating different people like Peter Kruder, Richard Dorfmeister or Erdem Tunakan to start dj-ing and/or producing.

When at the beginning of the 90`s Makossa and his old friend Peter Kruder worked on a track and the sampler quit his job due to exhausted memory capacity, a man called Richard Dorfmeister assists with urgently required hardware.
In this vein a duo came into existence which somehow turned the international musiscene upside down.
Makossa is the head of music-departement of Austria`s famous alternative radio FM4.
As producer of his 1992 established own weekly (Saturday evening) shows on FM4 called "Swound Sound System" , formerly known as "Silly Solid Swound Sound System" (together with Mc Sugar B) plus his chillout-show called "Liquid Radio" (every Sunday night) Makossa became an integrative character for the Viennese and Austrian electronic scene.
