With a low-key beginning in Rochester, NY as a DJ for Universal Element (event production company) LeRoy Brown opened for a variety of local artists including DJ Kahncept, React, Union (of Sin+Cos Productions) as well as international favorites such as DJ Craze, Ming+FS, and house legend Terrence Parker.
Universal Element parted ways in 2001 and from there LeRoy Brown went on to finish school, get a degree, and eventually make his way down to Florida, where he teamed up with TalkingTabs LLC, an Orlando based educational media company. Through his work in Orlando, LeRoy Brown helped to record, edit, and mix over 200 products for the firm. During his tenure there, the young engineer was also introduced to Bryan Covet, who happen to share many of the same goals and interests as him, and subsequently the two went on to create Research Deluxe in 2008.
LeRoy Brown is currently the primary engineer for Research Deluxe and oversees a majority of the productions that take place at the label as well as general business operations.
