ahib’s love of music was instilled at an early age. Being of Afghan origin he grew up listening to classic Indian and traditional Afghan music. This spiritual influence is clearly audible in both his sets and productions. His deep sound – always featuring surprising elements and a tendency towards melancholic melodies - is rooted somewhere between house and techno. Lahib acq...uired a feel for the audience – essential for any Artist - during his 2003–2005 residency at Monkey’s Island (Düsseldorf, Germany) where he played sets of up to ten hours. It was at Monkey’s Island that he was discovered by the booking agent of Düsseldorf’s legendary HARPUNE Club who spontaneously offered him the chance to prove his worth in front of a demanding audience, as warm-up for Ian Pooley and Time Writer. Lahib’s performance that night secured him his most important residency at the time. In the following two years he performed with some of the biggest names in the genre such as Carl Craig, TIGA, Loco Dice or Magda. He subsequently held a residency at Düsseldorf’s Club 3001 and also did numerous guest performances at various clubs in western Germany, including at Hell’s Kitchen TRIBEHOUSE Closing in Neuss.
Since 2010, Lahib has been working on his own productions. He starts with his first two releases coming up in september on "Somero 2011" Cécille Records. Watch out for more. Show less
