John Julius Knight / JJK is best known for dancefloor hits, such as “All I Do” (Cleptomaniacs feat. Bryan Chambers), which reached #23 on the UK`s top 40 chart, Eminence feat. Kathy Brown “Give It Up” and his Soulfuric Trax classic “Find A Friend”. He is also renowned across the globe for his energetic and unique DJ sets. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, John got into the sounds of Club Classics as a kid through his older brother who deejayed at local spots. In his teens he became a regular at the legendary Paradise Garage spearheaded by maestro Larry Levan , Tony Humphries`s Zanzibar Club, The Loft, David Morales`s Ozone Layer and he also experienced the later years of Studio 54. In 1992 John moved from New York to Miami where he met Brian Tappert, which started his career in producing and remixing. The pair`s first collaborations were released on Strictly Rhythm, Bassline Records and AM:PM UK and they soon became one of the most in-demand remix duos under their newly acquired `Cleptomaniacs` moniker. Both, as a team as well as a solo artist, JJK went on to producing and remixing for labels including Defected , Z Records, CR2, Spectrum, Soulfuric, Fluential, Look At You and Swing City to name a few. As a DJ, John Julius Knight is known for his ability to excite the crowd with his unique mix of Club Classics and the latest upfront joints, which can be heard on his “Soulfuric In The House” mix compilation out on Defected Records. This style of djing has made him a regular fixture on the international & domestic club scene and he regularly performs at the world`s leading House venues in such places as Dubai , South Africa , the UK , Australia , Japan , New Zealand , Ibiza , Germany , France , Switzerland , Eastern Europe , Brazil and across the US. JJK also held a standing two year summer residency at NYC`s top spot Cielo in 2004 and 2005. November 2006 saw the launch of John`s own imprint Reversoulmusic, whose first release was already championed by Pete Tong on his BBC Radio 1 show. Besides working on releases for Reversoulmusic and various other labels, he is an exclusive resident on the trend-setting Traxsource.com radio show, which airs all across the US via XM Radio Channel 80 “The Move” and throughout the world via numerous syndication stations.
