Jean Doe began experimenting with electronic music shortly after moving from Frankfurt to Copenhagen in 2004 where he began playing records in a number of local clubs. His family background of classically trained musicians and engineers, as well as growing up with piano lessons since early childhood, made his transition to recording his own music inevitable. He released his debut EP "State Of Transition" shortly after, which received support by established DJs such as Blu Mar Ten (Good Looking Rec) and Annie Mac (Radio 1). The sound of "State Of Transition" defined Jean Doe as an artist focusing on deep and dark soundscapes with apparent inspiration from early detroit techno and modern electronica. The cross-genre artist further sculpted his sound into an organic hybrid of lo-fi textures, processed acoustic instruments and classic synthesizers and drum machines. Building, modding and otherwise acquiring analog equipment to suit his needs, helped Jean Doe in further differentiating himself from other artists. In 2007 Jean Doe was hired as in-house composer and sound designer by one of Denmark's leading sound design agencies, where he currently working as mastering engineer. Show less
