Insect O. is an old hand in Dresden´s electronic music scene. Enthusiastic about the radio show “electronics” on East German radiostation DT64 in the early nineties he started buying records and making music at the age of 14 by programming sounds with C64 and Amiga 500. In 1996 he co-founded the club project “Flugzeugwerft” with the typical flair of East German techno parties. It was one of the first big platforms for electronic club music in Dresden. In the final days of Flugzeugwerft in 1998 he founded the record label Etui Records.
Some years later he met Soeren Matschiste. Together they founded the project Insect & Matschiste and organized together with SCEPA Crew the Deocure parties at Galerie Disko. Now he runs the Resonance parties at Club der Republik and the Etui Sessions at U-Boot in Dresden. He is also a part of the new founded Uncanny Six live band.
His sound is moving from from deep detroit like techo to a kind of spacey techhouse not only consisting of simple bleeps and bloops but also of emotional soundscapes. In his DJ and live sets he takes the people always on a trip through the range of techno. But it´s allways a reference to deep and dub techno in his music because he felt in love with this music a long time ago. Show less
