With over 250,000 albums sold world wide and with close to 1,00,000 people having seen them live, it is no exaggeration to say that INFECTED MUSHROOM is the most successful underground electronic act in the world today.
Infected Mushroom is Erez Eizen and Amit Duvdevani (nicknamed Duvdev).
Both Duvdev, born in 1974, and Erez, born in 1980, have a classical music education. Erez started learning to play the organ at the age of four and has been combining music and computers since the age of eleven. Duvdev studied the piano for nine years.
A mutual friend suggested they should get together and the two found enough in common to “surreptitiously” explore the rising psychedelic trends coming out of the clubs.
The results so far:
1998 saw the release of their debut album, The Gathering, which was heavily inspired by the surreal ambient dance of Juno Reactor, Simon Posford, and X-Dream who back then were the true pioneers of psytrance.
In 2000 they released Classical Mushroom, an aggressively melodic trance album that introduced them to the European and Japanese markets, and turned IM into one of the top trance duos in the world. This album was the spring board to worldwide awareness, combining their skills in classical music but composed into trance.
2001 brought B.P Empire – overloaded with their talent, creativity and most of all introducing a much harder & tighter sound approach. This album opened doors in the Americas – USA and South America – and established Infected Mushroom as the leaders of this genre.
Converting Vegetarians was released in 2003. An adventurous project, combining trance and freestyle on a double CD, “Converting” leads the listener through a sonic journey of epic proportions showing IM`s great talent as masters of analog resonance.
September 2004 – The “supervisor” is born. Infected Mushroom returns with their fifth studio album IM The Supervisor, their best album to date, a more matured and yet innovative dance approach that blasted the world with sales in excess of 40,000 units.
Through the years Infected Mushroom has gradually gained global recognition, appearing at major parties in Brazil, Japan, Mexico and the UK as well as touring in Canada and the USA. A Canadian promoter who was lucky enough to book them reported that “tickets were sold even faster than for the Paul Van Dyk gig I did a month earlier.”Show less
