Heidi grew up in Windsor Ontario in Canada, which is just across the border from Detroit Michigan. Coming from a family of music lovers, the house was always filled with a variety of classic rock, blues and folk throughout her childhood. Originally an indie kid, she started travelling to gigs in Detroit as soon as she could. The music scenes of Motor City and Chicago left a deep impression on Heidi and her record collection. Influenced by her electronic producing friends in Windsor, she gradually developed a love for techno music. Moving to England for a year in 1997 her eyes were opened even wider to the joys of underground dance music.
She moved to London permanently in 2000 to immerse herself in the music scene, clubbing every weekend and hanging out in record shops. In 2002 Heidi got a job working at the now defunct Koobla Records, and in 2003 was part of the team that opened up London`s foremost record shop, Phonica. Through her work she gained invaluable experience of the scene and underground culture. Her excellent DJ and artist contacts soon led her from vinyl fanatic to budding DJ. She`d been putting together sets for many of the countries top DJs, so it was a natural progression for her.
Since starting out three years ago, she`s played parties across London including Andrew Weatherall`s `Haywire` and Damien Lazarus` `Slash & Burn`. Soon reaching further a field with sets in Berlin with the Get Physical crew and at the WeekEnd club, also in Berlin, where she now holds a bi-monthly residency. In 2005 things really took off, alongside visits to France, Italy and clubs across the UK, she became a regular at London`s Bugged Out at The End. In Ibiza she rocked the crowd at Monza, the newest underground party that`s brought fresh sounds to the island. She also played room one of London`s cutting edge Fabric alongside DJ T and Dexter, as well as Berlin`s infamous Panorama Bar`s birthday party and Propaganda in Moscow. (A 70 minute slice of this set is available on the Wilde Bookings website).
Amongst her support for Soulwax UK tour, she´ll return to Berlin in the coming months for gigs at Loveparade, Watergate, Panorama Bar and Watergate. Aswell she´ll play several gigs at Monza@Space, Ibiza this summer. Her sound is a wide variety of music with an edge that`s constantly evolving from Detroit to Chicago house and techno, deep minimal techno to filthy electro house. Anything to makes those asses shake!
