"I try to hit it hard, no moderation" So say Goose In their stand out track 'British Mode', and it neatly sums up the sound of Skint's hot new signing.
Having just scored themselves the theme to Heineken's new Champions League campaign, Goose and their new album 'This Ain't No Heart Attack' are poised for big things in 2006.
Formed in the summer of 2000 as an antidote to school leaver's malaise, Tom, Dave, Bert and Mick started gigging as an AC/DC covers band and soon earned a reputation throughout Belgium for their lengthy guitar solos. However, on their first visit to a studio they chanced upon and old synth and fell in love with it. Out went the excessive guitar solos and in came a fifth member of the band.
A year of gigging later Goose entered and won the Belgian National Humo Rock Rally which led to a live session on the Belgian Radio One and MTV equivalent.
Goose recorded their debut single 'Audience' with producer Teo Miller (Placebo - Nancy Boy) in 2002 and it still remains the crowd- pleasing climax to their live shows. The band travelled to London with Teo to record a follow up 'Good Times' which spent 10 weeks in the Belgian charts. But it was when Coca Cola used 'Audience' for their TV adverts across Europe and they played live at Popkomm in 2004 that word began to spread. Since signing to Skint early this year, the band have holed themselves up their 'Safari' studio - a small room above the local pub, so called because of the single leopard print carpet tile hanging from the ceiling.
With the finishing touches being applied to 'This Ain't No Heart Attack' the band are embarking on a college tour early next year and with festival bookers already taking a keen interest, 2006 could be the year that, er, Goose lays their golden egg. Show less
