Melbourne is steadily growing to become a haven for all things clubbing and house related, the corresponding plethora of DJ’s and producers that compile the scene are making their mark outside, and spreading the Melbourne gospel further a field. One of the most exciting of these producers is young fellow Griffin James, aka Francis Inferno Orchestra, who has been kicking up a whirlwind of attention due to his own productions and growing fan base.
Incredibly, his FIO EP’s and Various Artists releases on Under The Shade, Join The Dots, Kolour Recordings, Melbourne Deepcast, Wolf Music, Sleazy Beats, Dikso, Sccucci Mannucci, House of Sound and House of Disco have all gone top 5 on the Juno Records Chart, in fact all of them bar a couple have gone number one. No mean feat…
It’s no surprise that ringing endorsements have come from luminaries such as Jimpster, Mark E, Soul Clap, 6th Borough, The Revenge, Jacques Renault and Iron Curtis. Contemporaries Soul Clap and Fantastic Man have done remixes while respected tastemaker Resident Advisor has pointed him out as one to watch.
An avid vinyl collector and a track selector beyond his years, FIO has made regular appearances at the renowned Animals Dancing parties in Melbourne, the Future Classic parties in Sydney and beyond. With chart topping releases under the belt and a strong work ethic, it would seem the rest of the world is lying in wait for Francis Inferno Orchestra. Show less
