I've been DJ'ing professionally since Spring of 1991. I started off as a mobile DJ at the age of 16 doing high school events and weddings. I attended a magnet school called Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, located in Alexandria, Virginia. After high school, I was off to the University of Virginia, where I spent the next 4 years juggling school, theatre, and DJ'ing for University events. I graduated in 1997 with a BS in Marketing, then returned home to Northern VA. This is when I said goodbye to my mobile DJ career, and began working as a club DJ.
Around this same time, my good friend DJ Oz (Oscar Bunoan) showed me a video tape of the 1997 DMC US Finals and the 1997 ITF US Finals. These were tapes of the highest profile DJ battles in the world. At that point, I became hooked on turntablism and DJ battles. I spent countless hours learning how to scratch and beat-juggle. I joined the Trooperz Crew, which consisted of Geometrix, Quixotic, and Sneek. DJ Oz and DJ Idee would join at a later time. The crew and myself would get together to practice for hours and hours. Eventually, we started winning a number of DJ battles. In 2003, I won the DMC USA Finals and placed Runner-Up at the DMC World Finals in London, UK.
In June 2004, after 13 years of DJ'ing part-time, I quit my IT day-job and began DJ'ing full-time. I've worked club residencies in DC while traveling all over the world to spin. In 2007, I got signed to CEG Talent, and then moved on to Moodswing 360 which handles DJ Skribble, Riz, Sizzahandz, Chachi, Spinbad, and Tommy Lee.
In 2006, I debuted my Live Remix Project. You can see a description of my Live Remix Project on the left side of my Myspace page. I also do a little production work in my freetime, working on club-friendly remixes and mashups to spin out at the club. You can check out some of my remixes on my jukebox above.
As a Club DJ, I spin a wide variety of musical genres, touching on anything from Hip-hop, to House, Rock, Retro, Reggae, Classics, Mashups, and whatever else gets the crowd moving. During my sets, don't be surprised to hear T.I., the Killers, James Brown, Bob Sinclar, Sean Paul, Earth Wind & Fire, the Cure, Chemical Brothers, Madonna, New Edition, and the Fedde Le Grande...all in one night. Check out my "In the CLUB" video series below, and you'll see what I mean.
In 2008, things are better than ever. I am Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" Tour DJ. I've completed the Madonna Promo Tour (aka my "project") and am currently on the Sticky & Sweet World Tour. For those of you wondering what "project" could make me drop everything, well here you go. Show less
