A club kid in Paris in the early 00s and inspired by great artists of the time Dan Ghenacia, Ivan Smagghe, Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, Djebali was ultimately drawn into life, first gracing the decks of a club in 2001. However, his deep love of music did not end there and he ended up graduating with a first class degree from the presitigious SAE Institute of Paris.
Developing a taste for the deep and groovy house sound keyed up for the summer, Djebali always focuses on bringing the sunshine to his sets playing music with a similar bounce and charisma to that of inspirations Derrick Carter, Brett Johnson, Inland Knights, Samim & Michel Rasoul and Swirl People.
Cutting his teeth at some of the finest hangouts in Paris, Djebali has also racked up decktime at Harry Klein, Bar25, Tbar as well as numerous appearances at Rex Club and a residency at Freak N Chic’s Batofar parties between 2008 and 2010.
On the production front, Djebali caught the attention of none other than Jay Haze. Totally charmed by Djebali’s warm and fluid style, his first EP ‘Fanfare’ was released on Jay’s label Tuning Spork in 2008. Since then Djebali has joined the ever-growing melting pot of Parisian talent that is Freak N Chic, delivering his 4 track ‘LAX’ EP the following year to wide critical acclaim. With ‘Sorry, I Missed The Sky’, Djebali further cemented his signature smooth, summery organic house sound. Noteworthy remixes for Monique Musique and EPs for Nordik Net followed.
Today Djebali continues with his hectic DJing schedule, wishing to spread his mood enhancing house music across dancefloors all over Europe. Next up production wise is a remix for Fine Squad on 9am records and another alongside Robert Dietz on Alain de Saracho’s New label Retrospect, and the launch of his label (djebali).. ear out !
