After more than 20 years of mixing, Claude Monnet truly deserves his nickname of the godfather. This is no big surprise for those who know about his taste for Coppola's & Scorcese's films, for elaborate cuisine and odd looks. After more than 20 years of mixing, Claude Monnet truly deserves his nickname of the godfather. This is no big surprise for those who know about his taste for Coppola's & Scorcese's films, for elaborate cuisine and odd looks. Claude is actually of Italian origin, although he was born in Lyon and started hunting around for old vinyl and playing in the local clubs in France and across the Italian border from the age of 16. His career really started in St Tropez in 1986 when he was resident in the mythical clubs: Le Bal & Pigeonnier. Soon after, he started playing in clubs in Paris (Queen, Palace, Bains Douches...) and all over the world from New York to Sydney and Tokyo.
Indeed Claude Monnet hasn't just been a DJ year after year; he has been producing his own music coming out with his own labels (SSOH, Mixture).
His new project "BACK 2 FUNDAMENTAL" , his latest single CLAUDE MONNET : VOODOO BOUNCE" ((already supported by Joe Claussell, Jephte Guillaume, Louie Vega etc..) are evidence of his eclectics, of his maturity and ability to get international night clubbers to groove on jazzy, funky, Electronic, African, powerful and spicy rhythms which are the main foundations of his music.
CLAUDE MONNET presents "BACK 2 FUNDAMENTALS"
his project should be the opportunity to get a more precise idea of how house music's been perceived in France. All the artists who appear on this project were asked to create a piece of music in which they would express their vision of early house music, thanks to their primal influences. What's very exciting about this concept is the wide range of people involved, quite illustrative of the impact on house music. From the emblematic Laurent Garnier to Dimitri from Paris, Julien Jabre, Dj Gregory, Martin Solveig, TORRE, Dj Fudge, Frank Roger, David Duriez, Rocco (rodamaal) and many more...
FUNDAMENTALS will give you a unique opportunity to know what those folks are really at.
