THE IBIZA INSIDE REMIX OF THE MONTH BY BÜLENT BILIE DEE
This month’s Ibiza Inside’s Remix is made by Bülent Asci aka Billie Dee. We discovered this talented DJ with amazing CV on the social platforms and in our Ibiza Soundcloud Group. Bülent, 20 years old, spends most of his time behind the decks and he has been a resident in many clubs. He was born in Turkey, travelled around the world and is now living in Austria. We love his tunes, like many others do, and we were curious about the man behind the music. We asked him all about it and he made a fantastic remix for Ibiza Inside. So, read and listen to the Ibiza Inside Remix of the month February by Bülent Asci aka Billie Dee.
TELL US ABOUT THE MAN BÜLENT ASCI?
I keep it simple. I’m Bülent, aka Billie Dee. I was born on January 3 in Turkey. I have lived in different places like Ibiza, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany and now I’m living  in Austria. I started producing in 2008 and I have been deejaying since1985. I was booked by several music agencies and played at more than 80 clubs in Europe. In1996 I had my breakthrough at a private party called Taranga Movet at Kaufleuten in Zürich. I was resident DJ at Club Pacha in Winterthur for two years and in many other clubs.
 
WHEN DID YOU START WITH MUSIC AND TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR MUSIC CAREER UNTIL NOW?
I started Deejaying in the mid-80s and since then I have had more than 25 years of experience. Billy’s style is a mix from Deep – Funky – Tribal- Tech – House & Electronical music together with everything that is cool. In 2009 I went back to school for 6 Month studying Jazz Seminary-Apple Logic Pro Studio and after I finished I started  producing.

Top Electronical/Dance Artist (local) Chart position 1 in 2011 on Reverb nation Charts.
Gipsy Side Of My Live – Bülent Billie Dee Featuring Ignacio Fernandez was chosen as the best Global compilation on CD POOL-UK of august 2009.
With “Love is Gone Song ” I was a finalist at Rhe ATTCe 2009, Apple Creative Talent Contest 2009 of Europe.
2011 I started to play again on radio shows:

YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE DJ SCENE FOR A LONG TIME. CAN YOU TELL US WHAT CHANGED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS?
The way to consume music is a reflection of the tumultuous technological development over the past decades within a generation; the record was replaced by the CD in the digital age. The digital age began with the compact disc (CD) in the early 1980s, the digital revolution in the music field. In order to offer music in a usable sound quality, you needed a new technique…the mp3 format was born. The first major social networking sites were sharing that within a very short time. Millions of songs were offered for free download. The music industry realized the danger; they fought against file-sharing and now offer legal music portals to still get some revenue. This probably seems to be the gradual demise of the compact disc – records are needed no longer to offer and sell music.
YOU HAVE AN IMPRESSIVE CV BUT WHAT WAS YOUR BEST PERFORMANCE EVER?
Me and DJ Antoine had been resident DJS at Club Pacha, Wintherthur for two years and every weekend there were about 2000 people in the club.  I also played in Switzerland for 3500 people. In the past years I played with top DJS like Jamie Lewis in Penthouse, Winterthur, and Strictly Rhythm flag ship Tony Carasco. However, at Zurich Kaufleuten, one of the biggest famous clubs in Switzerland, I had the best night in 1996 with over 15 drummers from Senegal. Great memories.

WHAT IS YOUR CONNECTION TO IBIZA?
The first time in Ibiza was in 1984. I won a dance competition and the first price was a one-week holiday on Ibiza. The next time I was Disco King & Freestyle Pioneer of Europe and the first competition place was Ibiza (the European top 30 at Space Ibiza). My way to Ibiza began on the dance floor but I never played there except for that time on the dance competition. I played a two- hour guest DJ set at Club Space. I have also some old friends who live in Ibiza and are DJs so I’m always in touch with Ibiza.
 
WHICH TIP DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG AND UPCOMING DJS?
When you do things from your inner soul you feel a river moving inside you, a joy. Never give up on that.
 
WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?
First of all I want to remain healthy to live the dreams I have. My goal is to keep on feeling love for the music. And maybe one day see I you guys in Ibiza…
